Could any users who have had synthetic teak installed in the cockpit please post up your pictures below.

I have found quite a few images on the boards but none specifically with boarders around the hatches - i know there was one boat in Canada who had this done but for the life of me can't find the images!

Reason for asking is i have just had my bathing platform done and want to get some ideas together for the teak man - i don't want it looking like too much is going on but i also don't want it looking too simple, if that makes sense?

TIA

The hatches are too small to do a boarder IMO. This is what we did.

Thanks Mike. Part of me says do small borders, part of me says not. I’ve seen pictures of a boat with borders on the hatches but for the life of me I can’t find it anymore. I think I’m going to leave it to the teak man to make the final call.

I've got some hatches done with borders and will get a picture for you within a couple of days. Your swim platform looks great!

Cheers Kevin that would be ace. We are going for borders now as the templates are all done. Small borders all the same but we’ve sketched it up and a little concerned that one big block of straight lines just won’t cut it. It’s taken me long enough to get the guy to do the job as it is - he’s been in Croatia for the last five weeks doing a super yacht!

Borders up in the pilot house where most visible and a running pattern down in the cabin. As you can see, the hatch in the cabin gets covered with a small carpet so no need to to go crazy with a border down there.

Hope that this helps ..

Perfect! Thanks again for that. That’s pretty much along the lines of what is being done.

Is that a project you can take on yourself??? If not what do you think the all in cost would be on doing the cabin sole on a 28te??

I’ve just paid £460 for the swim platform and £2200 for the deck. With the amount of artistic accuracy with the job, I wouldn’t take it on myself.

Hey Norseman that looks great. Exactly what is it? I think I would like to put in the cabin sole. Did you do it yourself or hire a professional installer?
