Oh, you gotta do more than that. It could be anything fuse, sender, gauge, wires, ground, battery....a little more info will help track it down

Won’t turn on sounds to me that the gauge has lost it’s 12V power. You need to figure out from where it’s gets powered up .... dash switch, ignition switch, etc. Check the back of the gauge for 12V, should be marked IGN or I ..... and if nothing trace the circuit.
