I have the 2005 Albin A-30FC with the 315 HP Yanmar diesel engine. Recently the engine alarm buzzer stopped working. All the engine systems appear to be working normally as well as the various red warning lights on the engine panel. It is just that the buzzer no longer buzzes, like on start-up before the oil pressure comes up.
Is it likely that the buzzer unit itself has failed? Is it easy to find a new one and replace it?

Re: Engine Alarm Buzzer
I had the same problem on my 28TE engine box with the 315 Yanmar. I unscrewed the plastic ring around the buzzer on the instrument panel and spun it slightly and the buzzer started sounding again. It seamed to be the connection on the back of the buzzer.

Re: Engine Alarm Buzzer
I tried that and it didn't make any difference. I then loosened off the instrument panel and took a look at the buzzer connections. Everything appeared OK. Does anyone know if the buzzer can be tested by putting a 12 volt power source on its terminals? (Without screwing up something else.)
Further, where might I find a new buzzer?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: Engine Alarm Buzzer
The buzzer is fed from a resistor matrix board. It allows the multiple grounding sensors / safeties to control one output to the buzzer. The + should be from the ignition position on the switch and there anytime the engine is on. The ground is what makes it scream. Try putting the ignition on and testing. If no ground is measured use a jumper and ground the - of the buzzer. It could be the matrix that has gone out.

Re: Engine Alarm Buzzer
Found the Y/W wire pulled out the harness plug behind the dash.
