Been quiet lately, went on a 8 day trip to the FL Keys and also bought a condo to fix up. Too much for a retired guy,
Sharing a picture from the Albin 28TE Pilot House:
These boats have too much plain vanilla surface area, like the inside of a refrigerator. Even the darn seats are white so as to blend in with the rest.
In desperation I added a laminated Bahamas Chart. It can also be used for navigation, if needed.

Do you decorate the inside of your refrigerator, too? :D

Clearly, you have too much free time, but you may have gone overboard on the fixer-upper condo.

The insides of my fridge is decorated with good food and premium beer
The condo is coming along. Just about done, need to continue the Albin projects, like why is the bow thruster eating zinks?

The Bahamas Chart brightens up the dull gelcoat color in the pilot house, try it, you may like it..

I installed a small teak rack where your chart is to hold the usual collection of small stuff at the helm - cell phone, pencil, odd screws that are only supposed to be there temporarily, etc.

Here's the little junk tray.

I shouldn't hijack your thread, but if anyone knows what I have to take apart to get to that nasty nav light that has never worked, I'm all ears.

Had the same problem, my chart table light was all corroded and no-good.
Replaced with an LED light with red and white bulbs.
See picture above.

Yes, your new nav light looks great. How did you get access to it?

Uh, where did I buy it?
Probably Amazon, seem to remember $44.
It was a brand name, like Aqua Signal.
Let me look back on this thread a few months, I probably made a posting about so as to assist other members with the issue.

Nancy:
Check out the January 18th post and the January 24th post on this thread.
These boats, with small battery banks and no generator need all LED lights, hence I have been going after them fixture by fixture. Now they are all LED and I can sit for anchor another day without discharging the Golf Cart batteries below 50%. (Bad..)
Plans for the future is an adult size solar panel on the hard top, and another 2 golf cart batteries added to the house bank,, then my time at anchor in the Bahamas drinking cold beer is limited only to the stores onboard:)

My second question would have been make and model, and I see the answer up thread. My first question - about access - is what did you have to take apart to remove the old light, install the new one and get to the wiring. Yes, LED is good. I long ago swapped out most of the bulbs that we use while at anchor.

There is a hose coming off of it going to the low point in the bilge beneath the engine.

Using it will help keep your mind off of disaster while you're sinking.
