Painting Bilge

Post by JBrooks »

Decided to clean the bilge and talked myself into painting the whole bilge after cleaning Here's a few pictures. I've painted 7 out of 8 bilge areas. One thing I learned is there's an access hatch under the teak flooring at the table pedestal. This gives you access to the supply hose to the AC and the condensation drain hose the shower sump pump. Of course I figured that out after I already ran two new AC hoses thru the area. I'm using Total Boat ToalBilge paint. Painting the bilge lead to the following mini projects: replaced two float bilge pump switches, rewired aft bilge pump that was wired backwards, replaced supply hoses from seacock to marine AC unit, and installed high water bilge alarm.

Replacing the table pedestal this weekend if I get to it. The old unit was seized up and beyond repair. New one moves with one finger.
