Hey everybody out there. My1987 27' Sport Cruiser came with fairly newly installed hydraulic steering with autopilot which all works well. In the aft compartment where the rudder post is the previous owner installed chain rudder stops. The chain rudder stop links are rusting and creating a mess. I'm trying to figure out if I need these rudder stops at all? I don't think I do since it's hydraulic and the rudder will not move unless the steering wheel is turned. With the boat hauled you can't even move the rudder by hand if you wanted to, I tried.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this? Thanks in advance. Britt
