28 TE Microwave

Post by catalina_mike »

Looking for a replacement that meets the 10" high.. After cleaning and throwing away the rusted white one.. upon reflection we should have painted it! How hard can it be to get a small Black microwave anyway? Looking for what others have done as well..

Thanks

Same sort of issue but I was also changing out for a 240volt version. I found the daewoo qt 1 was a perfect fit.

I'm sure I also saw it as a 110v version. The qt2 is green and the qt3 is pink if that's your thing!

Your microwave opening is 10" high? You're lucky - ours is 9.5". ;)

Three years ago, I looked everywhere for a replacement for our rusty unit. This size seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird. I had no luck. I ended up yanking the eyesore and putting a basket in the empty space. Picked up some much needed storage space. But yes, it's a trade-off, and I know some people can't survive without a microwave. Good luck in your search!

We replace ours every other year when back to school sales are at WalMart in late July/August. We buy one for home and switch it to the boat after two years when they start to loose a little of their effectiveness. We have to bang the bottom feet down and jam it in the opening, but it never moves no matter the seas!!!

The basket is a good choice especially if your wife is likely to get aggravated when she discovers that a large paper cup of coffee can't fit upright in that teeny microwave.

Wanted to jump in on this thread since ours is on the fritz now. I'm also stuck with the 9.5 opening. Looks like that Emerson's NLA... there are lots out there with 10 or 10.31 dimensions.
