WTF: These faucets were original on the Albins as Scandvik 316 SS faucets?
Still for sale at anywhere from $65 to to $125 on the internet.
Mucho corrosion. Not impressed.
Got 2 on the Port side just below and just behind the Co-Pilot’s seat.
Both corroded beyond belief.

I purchased them premade basis a recommendation on this forum in 2010. Cannot find the supplier who, I believe, was in New England. They are made better than originals.

New faucets, Scanvik but plastic “caps”. $51 a piece at B.O.W.
2 spare plastic caps for $2.5 each.
Hopefully they don’t corrode like the so-called 316 SS.

Finished the Volt meter/gauge project with a couple of custom made labels, from Carolina Laser, $3.75 each plus shipping.
Went with green ‘cause the cushions are green, what the heck..

DVM's look good, they are an invaluable tool. Are they both wired as homeruns to each bank?

Only the start Bank gauge is wired straight to the start Battery.
The house gauge is wired to the feeder on the 12 Volt panel next to it.
I measured the Voltage both at the Battery and at the panel, no drop, same value. Too easy

Dollar for dollar DVM's are probably the best upgrade to most boats.
Here's an article I did on my install.

Yeah agree, had those gauges on several boats, including an electric boat with 8 golf cart batteries.
On last sailboat I upgraded to a Xantrex Battery Monitor including shunt to measure in and out flow.
Considered doing the same on the Albin, but decided not yet.
Need to tweak the electrical system first with another 2 golf cart batteries and/or solar panels.
The plan is to sit for anchor in the Exumas a week or two with no generator. The fridge will be the big draw, original fridge from 2001.
Wonder if the latest model compact fridge will be more efficient and better insulated?

Nice..looks great and good you have the shade because that stuff makes for hot decks. She's a MUCH MUCH MUCH better boat now than the day you bought her. Now it's just counting the days until you realize it's too small and you need the 31TE ! A week or two on the hook in Exumas with no genny ought to do it!

Haha, no generator needed. Spent many weeks for anchor in the Exumas on previous boat, don’t want no AC or no stinking generator. Trying to get away from all that. Quiet nights and clean air.
I could easily have bought a bigger boat with more stuff but going down in size: First boat back in 1985 was a 44’ sailboat, lived aboard 3 years in the Caribbean. Next boat was a 33’ sailboat here in Florida, had it 14 years and sailed the Bahamas 27 times and another 30 Trips to the Florida Keys. No generator on either boat.
Also had other power boats as well as having earned my bread as Captain on a Yacht with more complex systems than I care to remember. Most of my time was spent fixing stuff, or rather hire contractors to do it. Owner gave me an open check book and it was used frequently.
Bought the Albin 28TE because I like simple, including single engine.
Plenty of breeze while sitting for anchor. Got 12 Volt Caprano fans if the breeze dies or we have to hide inside or in the pilot house for a rain shower.
So far I like the Albin a lot and it seems to be just what the doctor ordered. 8)

Used Seadek http://www.seadek.com/
They have all kinds of different colors and patterns. I chose faux teak with white “seams”.
They came to the boat and used some computer scanner to measure every inch of the deck and platform, then fed the result into their cutting computer, then cut it last week and installed it today. The product is foam and pleasantly soft when you walk on with bare feet. I don’t fish so there is no problem with blood and guts on the “teak” and red wine will be out-lawed on the boat.
(Seadek says it can be cleaned with 10% bleach and they give a 3 year warranty on color and fading)
Overall I am pleased with the product and will take the boat out for a test ride tomorrow to check out the new steering wheel and the new deck. 8)
