Rudder size difference on 28TE flush deck vs engine box
I have seen reference in the AOG to rudder is smaller on flush deck vs engine box and have seen the difference on boats on the hard during winter layup. Question, does anyone know why Albin reduced the rudder size on the flush deck? Just curious!

Yup. I'm often defending why the rudder is so small on my flush deck version. Would be good to get some more facts around it, rather than just saying, the larger one caused steering issues.

I can offer some anecdotal information. Our '05 flush deck has the larger "barn door" rudder and at top speed it can be difficult to turn to starboard. At 16 knots or less it works just fine.
