On their round grommets Marine East's description is by "inside" diameter not outside.

For future reference, the part# is 6660W.

Another reference for LED bulb replacement is Marine Beam. A good company with lots of selection. I replaced all cabin halogen bulbs on my 28 and 31 with varios LED's from them. Some in white/red, some in white/blue all within the single toggle switched lamps. They also had options for the 31 cabin reading spots.

Great job on updating and caring for Odin!

This here Albin 28TE fits the program pretty good.

Previous boat was brand new. Bought it off the dealer’s lot with 0 hours.
Not much to do except bitch about warranty issues and keep it clean.
Got bored fast so I started a charter business with the boat.

But was still bored.
Sold the Glacier Bay 2770 eighteen months later for more than I paid.
(Still in shock after that :shock: )
Kept it so clean and so polished that the buyer fell in love at first sight and after I rejected his first 2 offers, he paid full price.

Never fell in love with the Glacier Bay and the 2 big outboards, but it was nice to have a shiny new boat for a while.
Never again though, too many warranty items: The bugs was for me to fix, had to fight the dealer and the factory occasionally. Not impressed.
Will put the Albin into charter soon, need to finish the window frames and a few other things.

Got a fairly good match for the Oyster color from 2001.
Had it mixed manually yesterday.
Not perfect, but here is the formula if anybody needs to touch up small areas.
The top picture is the area I already painted: color match is ok, but my painting skills are lacking. Kind of rough surface, need a better brush and more talent.. :mrgreen:

As for the shine in the ceiling, my wax guy insisted on polishing the pilot house ceiling, now I need sunglasses to look up, bright and shiny.

Need replacement cabin dome light for my 2001 28TE:
Changed all the bulbs to LED today and managed to bust a switch.
The model # says Guest 8018.
Found 2 on Google but 8218 and they seem to be grey rather than white.
Not sure if the same light. Any ideas or links to the 8018?
Also changed to LED bulbs in the pilot house dome light, superbrightleds.com had all the bulbs I needed.

Never found the exact same light. One vendor in Seattle have the bigger model, 7” instead of 5”.
The fixture itself is ok, but the switch is busted.
Found a new switch. They are called Oslo mini-rocker switch, 19 millimeters.
2 for $5.95 on eBay.

I've been looking for new lights as well or a way to repair my corroded ones. I have the same Guest ones. Did you get dimensions to verify that the switch will fit, or are you just going to trial and error it?

My Guest/Marinco cabin lights are pretty much all plastic, no corrosion. (Ceiling/dome lights over convertible berth)
Do you have metal fixtures in the same area?

My '02- 28 and '06- 31TE both equiped with 4" round stainless steel Sea-Dog cabin lights. Bulbs were double pin halogens that I switched out to LED disc type bulbs from Marine Beam. The bulbs that I selected are white/red and white/blue changing colors by toggling the single pole switch. A nice solution for adding bi-color lighting to a single pole switched light. Sea-Dog also offers these fixtures in single color white LED.

No, my Guest ones are the same as yours I believe... all plastic except for switch and socket.

On Air intakes, every boat I had has ones facing forward and back. Forward ones are to force fresh air in and backwards facing are to aid in exhausting bilges. You’d be surprised on my Ocean tug and salvage ships how much negative pressure could build up if the engineers did not match the draw of air from big deisels with supply fan ventilation. Almost could not open the water tight doors to engine room! Most boats have forward vents facing forward because of cleaner air flow, especially if the hull narrows as you go aft.
