I'd ask everyone to spare a thought for 44 Argentine submariners missing in the South Atlantic, aboard the Submarine San Juan.
Thanks

Re: ARA San Juan
Yes indeed. Very mysterious. Likely lost with all hands by now. Sad. Latest reports of hull noises turned out to be nothing. Hard to say what might have happened, catastrophic hull breach, flooded battery compartment generating chlorine gas. Otherwise what could have prevented blowing ballast & emergency surface?

Re: ARA San Juan
Doug: I think maybe you were a submariner, so do you think it's possible that they were hijacked? Difficult, but maybe? Also, wouldn't they have had a signal buoy to launch if possible? PM me if you want, re: Alexandria, as I'm a native from there. Mark
