Good Windlass Users

Morning All,

Can any users with a Good F850 Rope/Chain Windlass have a look at their motors for me and let me know what model it is?

Reason for asking is i am pretty sure my motor is on its way out - i could take it off and get the windings rewound and cleaned up, but the outer casing is showing signs of heavy corrosion.

I have found one on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Good-Automat ... 2749.l2649 which i am pretty sure is the correct one so I have purchased it - I have until Monday to cancel if it is the wrong one.

To buy one from Good and have it shipped to the UK with all taxes paid is in the region of £330 - for £500 I can buy a Lewmar Windlass at trade price.

I'd like to keep the Good as its been on the boat 17 years now and is more than up to the task, plus swapping the motor out is a 30 minute job instead of fitting a whole new Windlass which will require drilling new holes and new cut outs (I like to keep the boat as unmodified as possible)

The part number from Good is 1A-21M6 but looking at the motor I have bought and doing some online research, I think this one is the same - just not 100% certain!
