Solar on A27
Been busy getting the boat ready for a long term cruise this Fall and finally got around to installing our 200 watts solar panels on our 27FC. Left the boat unplugged for 3 days by the dock with the fridge, vhf, gps, radio, fan and charged our iPads each day and still had 14.5 volts by 3 in the afternoon! Looks like we are close to self sufficient and almost ready for our trip down the ICW!

Thats awesome! Great install.
What are your battery bank specs? I've been considering a set up like this for some time, my demand would be about the same as yours.

Re: Solar on A27
Sorry for the delay...been busy spending almost $900 at Walmart provisioning and now at the Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous trying to learn as much as we can for our trip on the ICW (will post pics, Sprig!).
We have a Group 31 AGM starting battery, and 2 6v 230 amp hrs wired in series for the house. Got the Windy Nation 100w flexible panels for around $120 each (twin pack) and another $120 for the Renogy Rover MPPT controller (very helpful). We had really rainy / cloudy weather but still took 3 days before we dropped below 12v!

Bearkeley, your Albin 27FC looks wonderful! Would love to see some additional pictures (if you don't mind) of your vessel. Would like to see how your interior is set up and the stern of the vessel. Your hardtop looks very unique.

Thanks, John. We got very lucky and found her thru this forum. The work done by the PO, capt Vic was pretty much documented on this site. We have, however, done a few upgrades to personalize her and get her ready for cruising south on the ICW and will plan to post more pics soon. For now, these might give you an idea of her layout.JFOkie wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 7:54 pm Bearkeley, your Albin 27FC looks wonderful!
