That's because you have the fastest version!lol,,,, Those 370 Cummins boats really move from what I hear! I do love my 28 powered by the "beast",,,,I think you are the youngest owner of a 28te,

60 years old, Albin 28TE owner for a weeks.
Had sailboats for 20 years and 3 smaller boats, 17-18’.
Also crewed on tankers and cargo ships in my youth, all 3 departments.
Picked the Albin 28 a number of reasons, single diesel, protected prop and rudder, 2 double bunks, good storage, protected steering position with hard top, etc, etc.
Planning to do some treasure hunting in the Bahamas. Large aft deck for transporting the gold back to Florida.
Perfect boat for me...

JaredH,
I was right on your heals trying to by dogonit! Called Ken Hilton and was sad to learn she was under agreement. However a sister 28TE also dark blue just was being offered for sail. So I bought About Time which was siting right next to Dogonit at Standish boatyard. Had to wait until you got in the water so Ken could prep mine for water. I got underway shortly after you for her home port in Mattapoisett Ma. Small world! Ken told me Dogonit, now Isla was heading for Maine !

58 and we’re tired of getting bounced around on our Grady White. We completed our Reno’s on the house so figured it was now or never. Always liked the 28TE FD but hard to find. As in previous post, I was interested in JardedH’s Isla(ex Dogonit) but missed out, but lucked into About Time sitting right next to Dogonit! Never was even listed before I closed. Small world indeed. So the average age of 28TE is more a question of “ Old enough to know a good, solid, well thought out Boat when we see one and young enough at heart to enjoy it!

Is it not still a boat? The quintessential device for transporting large amounts of gold to the seas? Ah, dump it closer to home. I get it!
Not sure what you are saying.
Make it simple: My boat has lots of room for the gold.
Stop..

I think what Willie is saying is that he takes his gold to west marine, converts it to jewelry, and then delivers it to his boat, which sounds quite the opposite of what you're planning to do with your boat. When you do find that treasure, please post a photo for the rest of us who usually do what Willie does with his gold.

Well I've been boating over 60 years. Power, sail for the most part, now back to power with my most recent purchase of a 2001 Albin 28TE. So far I've only been at the helm during the sea trials in mid September. Solidified the deal and had her trucked from Savannah to Chicago the end of that month. Just in time for winterizing and shrink wrapping. Boy it going to be a long winter.

Nice, probably similar to my boat.
Do you have the Yanmar 6LP-STE?
(I just finished changing coolant, took me 4 hours, including dropping tools in the bilge, then trying to find and retrieve ‘em. Changing zincs also took 4 hours. Everything is hidden under the engine, get a mirror and a head-light)
Other than that, happy with my new (to me) Albin 28, rides good, comfy and economical compared to my previous boat, a Glacier Bay 2770, also 300 hp.

Yup, the Yanmar 6LP-STE. I let the yard do the dirty work for now. I have to learn more about the boat before I start tackling the routine stuff.
Is it spring yet?

Nope, not quite spring but if you are retired, come to Florida and hang out, we got super duper winters here, margaritas and blue skies included.
Uh, and bring new Albin, she will thank you.
