New to me A25 #1222
Well... I did it.
Leaving it stored until next spring, then bringing it home to update.
Has been repowered with a westerbeke 27
Looking forward to many cruises once a thorough once over is completed.

Looking good. Where is she? Does she have a trailer or is this the boat you were looking for a trailer for? One way to get her home if you plan on keeping her in the water is to rent another member's trailer while their boat is in the water.

No trailer
Lots of distance trailering plans so need to find a builder familiar with the hull shape...

Interesting idea to put a Bimini top over the pilot house. I assume the pilot house has the canvas top?

Congrats on the purchase! Enjoy!

Congratulations. The Albin is a great boat and you can look forward to many years of economical cruising. My grandkids love it and so do I! A trailer is a smart acquisition not only for reaching remote destinations quickly but also reducing haul out and maintenance costs. I would say it pays for itself over 3 to 4 years.

Re: New to me A25 #1222
Trailer wise, the A25 hull design has a lot in common with sailboats, especially those with swing keels. Therefore would do well to seek someone familiar with fitting trailers for sailboats. Figure on a tandem drop axle trailer capable handling a boat weighing +/-5,000 lbs & tongue length sufficent to launch without needing to back the tow vehicle too far into the water, or else add a tongue extension.

Frank - let me know if you have any luck finding a trailer maker - although a trailer is the cheapest part of the solution unless you already own a pickup truck!

Two new items to share...
One-
Turns out that #1222, although a 1972, has a semi displacement hull.

Second
Have decided on a Beta 25
I’ve had Kubota tractors at work for 25yrs and totally trust their engines.

Will you be doing much of the work in swapping the engine or just writing the checks?
Not trying to be nosy at all, just trying to pin down actual costs. I can spend hundreds saving a nickel.

Re: New to me A25 #1222
I don’t think that is a semi displacement hull. I tried to copy a picture of the semi displacement version but was unsuccessful. It has a flattened bottom at the chines in the stern
