Thanks John, That was really enjoyable. I still have fond memories of my 25 years boating on the Chesapeake Bay. :D

It looked like some of those guys let the stern crash into the docks..?

I happened to be watching that last night. Looks rough on the motor and transmission but pretty impressive maneuvering.

Dang! We were down on the Eastern Shore with our RV trailer on September 26 & 27 (part of our 9,000 miles RV circumnavigation, but that's another story, we're in New Mexico now, 2 days from home), and we missed that event. Don't recall ever seeing any "Eastern Shore watermen" like those last contestants before on any of our Chesapeake cruising. Had planned to transit the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-tunnel on our way South from the Delmarva, but it was closed to RVs & trailers due to high winds at the time, so we had to go via Annapolis to get to I-95.

PS, Capt Jack, we were as far down the East coast of FL as Fort Pierce, then over to Kissimmee, Orlando, & Panama City before heading West. Drove through Mobile a day ahead of Nate, & diverted North to I-20 & Dallas to beat the storm.

DesertAlbin736,
You drove right past me on your way to Ft. Pierce . I would have liked to have met you. Maybe next time...

Sorry, we were on somewhat of a tight schedule, catching my brother in Ft. Pierce on his day off, and my cousins in Kissimmee & Longwood on their days off work, then on to my aunt's in Panama City before hurricane Nate hit. We're back home in AZ now & no plans to go back East again for at least 2 years.
