Buying an Albin 28
I am in the process of buying a 2004 Albin 28 flush deck. I had a survey done and I was told the bottom has delamination of the fiberglass and there is moisture in the core. Also the stringers have the same issue. Is this a common problem with the Albin 28 and is it hard to repair ? If the dealer doesn't fix it I am thinking of killing the deal.

Kill that deal!! Very expensive and the scope of the work cant be determined until the boat is really opened up

Re: Buying an Albin 28
So, Albineers..."Is this a common problem...?" If not, why would it hit this boat? Maybe move this thread to another category?

Re: Buying an Albin 28
(my reply disappeared) Not a common problem IMO, I think I heard of one other boat having this issue. Likely a hole was drilled and not sealed properly which allowed water into the laminate. Or possibly poor layup, even the best makers have bad boats (google Hattaras 60 delam!)

Re: Buying an Albin 28
Agree you should move on. There are a good number of the 28te's out there forsale with no such problems. Whatever the price I would stay away.
