Thats how we faught a 120# last season. On the bow quarter.

Tree are you allowing for the prop walk to starboard?

My new berth is like parallel parking Mike. The albin is the largest boat on the pontoon with not a huge amount of room to creep down between two rows of boats. I was interested on how well the boat performs under heavy load astern fighting fish but working it at a 45° angle makes sense.

Getting bigger! 95" landed Tuesday. 6+ hour fight with a 130 on full drag set at 42lbs at strike. Isla (formerly Dogonit) is fishy!

Did you add any additional backing on your swivel rod holders or just the metal backing plate that came with them?

The rod holders are swivels made by SMF marine. I used the provided backing plates, epoxied the exposed core, and liberally coated with 4200 when installing. No signs of fatigue or issues even after 6 hours at full drag.

I used 13" in the corners and 11" in the middle and forward end of the gunnel. Even the 11" require notching the under gunnel rod holder insert to install.

What a great catch. Like a whole season in one catch.
