Re: Replacement cockpit seats
Thanks for the info Jack. I'll check it out.
I was able to repair it for now. I put a 3/8 bolt and nut in the base and taped out the tube. It work for now. I would like to come up with sometime else. I was thinking about a fold down seat that bolts to the bulkhead someway..

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
Normally I search and study this forum before changing anything on Zero PSI But recently I ordered one of these Lexington chairs without checking here first. I couldn't find anything at this price point that I liked better and so I did the impulse purchase. Looks great in your photo and I'm sure it's going to be great on our's, too. Thanks.catalina_mike wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2017 11:09 am Here are pictures of my replacements. They work great and are very comfortable.

We are going to make additional adjustments. First we are going to replace the existing slide mount with one that slides and rotates. This will the helm chair to face the port side bench when we're just hanging around.
Second, I'm going to purchase another matching chair for the port side. The 31 has a bench on that side but there are times with two of us on board when the passenger would like to be sitting up higher. So we will be adding a removable post and this chair.
Pictures to follow.

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
The other thing I did after figuring out where the seat catch was elevation wise was drill a hole for the quick position handle. They snap into forward position so all the stress is not on the friction clamp.Pasteur wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2017 10:38 amNormally I search and study this forum before changing anything on Zero PSI But recently I ordered one of these Lexington chairs without checking here first. Re: Replacement cockpit seats
I had to replace mine, and I was not going to go back to the Todd screw-in base for my Helm Chair, as mine takes a pounding and I am not liking that thread system and how it strips. So I bought a 30" Todd straight base, as I wanted to make sure I matched the floor hole pattern, and bolted that in. I tested this last night, on opening the hatch and it worked fine. Basically, the chair comes off fast, and with that post in, it still lifts fine and snaps into the support clip with ease, allowing for emergency or regular access to the Yanmar. As I have a tournament next weekend and 2 more right after, she will be tested.
Mike, I did buy that Lexington chair as well, but that has not shown up yet. Will send pics when I get that installed.

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
Can you tell me how much wider these are than the original seats?
Do you notice the loss of space as you walk through?
Thanks,

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
No apparent loss of space, I think they are the same size, measurements are on the iboats website, they are able to fully swivel just like the originals
I forgot, but can measure Tomorrow,
Everyone loves the reclining feature ,the only weird thing is in full reclinevthevarmrests are angled up, they cannot be lowered, but you get used to that,

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
I have exact measurements at San Clemente. I remember there just being minor differences.

Were you guys able to reuse the factory bases or did you have to replace those?

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
I ordered new bases because I wanted them to match. But the old ones would have worked fine. With the sliding rotating base I got you would need to cut down the old ones as well as new ones.

Re: Replacement cockpit seats
Alan, I also upgraded to a 3.5 pedestal and then added their flat quick release bottom plate for faster complete removal. It works very well. Tom.
