Broke the portside pilothouse window - that piece towards the bow. Every place I've called asks about bringing them the frame. Looks like some of the screws are buried behind the helm.
Has anyone gone through this before? I don't see a way to get the frames out. And i don't see a way to get the starboard side piece out to use as a template.
I've got an email in to Ken at Standish but they behind and I doubt I'll hear from then anytime soon.

Re: Broken pilouthouse window
I'm assuming your 2003 windows will be the same as my buddies previous 2005 windows (my 2000 is different). If so the window lifts out somehow. He had someone throw a rock through his starboard side so he removed his port side for a template. Took about 20 minutes if I recall. I don't quite know what he did but if no one else chimes in I'll ask him in the morning and report back.

Re: Broken pilouthouse window
Hi - Looked at things for awhile and realized I'd get clearance to remove the starboard window by removing the rubber channel that it sits it. Was a bit of a challenge to get it out but it slid out and then I was able to remove the window. I'll be using it as a template for a replacement and will report back.
Quite the start for July 4Th!
Fingers crossed...

Re: Broken pilouthouse window
I think Jim found the best solution but I removed my port frame by taking out the screws I could get to, then I pulled the rear of the frame out of the opening and slide it back. It takes a little force to get it moving but once the forward screws are pulled clear of the helm they can be removed and the whole thing taken out. When I replaced the frame I did not put the hidden screws back in but the others seem adequate to hold the frame in.

Re: Broken pilouthouse window
Currently calling around - every glass shop that I've talked with says a template is needed and that it will then go out to a supplier.
One thing I'd love to replace is the rubber channel that the windows sit in - or should I say rattle in. It's basically a hard rubber u channel. Would think something with felt or a brush like material would be better. Would love to hear if someone found a source for an upgraded track...

Re: Broken pilothouse window
I did this a few years back on my 2006 TE 28. (Port) The hard to get out screws on the bottom front were not screwed to anything. (Just held in with silicone) Once the silicone seal was broken the window frame came out.
I removed the center window in my new 2008 31. All of those screws on the bottom were real, so it took some time to remove them.
Hopefully yours are not screwed in too.
