Albin 28 TE Generator?

Post by KGK »

Does anyone with an Albin 28 TE with installed generator have any pictures of their generator in place? I am curious as to the space it occupies. I have read on this forum that Entec West makes a generator that is well sized for the Albin 28 and I am wondering how much space it takes up. This is a potential future project for us, although lots of items on the list before this one. Many thanks!

I'd also consider the Fisher Panda generator.

Here are some pictures of my Entec West generator in my 2004 28 TE engine box series:

It's dark here now. I'll take a pic of the genny and it's location on my engine box 28 in the morning. Mine is an entec west and it fits great (except for the access for the zinc)

So where are your batteries located? That is where my batteries are. Thinking about adding one in the future. My Honda will hold the AC but barely..

Here's my factory setup on my 98. The silver box is the gen enclosure. With it removed there is lot of access to the surrounding stuff (batteries, ac water pump, etc). The enclosure comes off easily I was just being lazy. Lol. As for batteries they are located under the access panel under the captains helm seat. I have 2x Grp 27s for a starting bank, and a 4d for a house bank.

Mike - Your batteries are in a very common location for engine box models without the factory genset. As Jeremy had pictured, my house bank of 2 - 6 volt golf cart batteries were located on a shelf in that position. My 4 D start battery was located under and forward of the cockpit deck hatch port side of the engine box. This was all factory build set-up. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures.

We have a 3.5 kW Next Gen in a sound box. It sits under that hatch between the nav and captain's chair (engine box model).

We have 4 AGM 12-volt batteries. One on either side of the engine, one forward of the generator and one next to it on the port side.

Next time I'm down to the boat, I'll take some pictures to post.
