Hello all,
I did a quick search of the forums here and saw that some of you suck the oil out of the tranny through the dipstick as you would with the engine oil. I read my tranny manual and it says there is a drain plug. Which method to use? what is the capacity? I think it mentioned dexron oil/tranny fluid.
Thanks!

It's hard or impossible to get lower than the drain plug and be able to dump it through the plug. Use the fill tube and measure what you pull out and replace the same amount as a starting point.

Thanks Mike - It ended up taking about 3 quarts. It was a lot easier to extract than the 2.5 gallons of cold oil.

Welcome karliboat. Clicking on the poster's name will take you to his profile and his boat info if he has included it, as well as his other posts so you can see what issues besides tranny oils he has been working on. (28TE, fyi.) Then again some of these guys change boats like socks, so it may be outdated.

That was me for the last 4 years in a row... A new boat every season. I think we'll hold on to this one for a while... Just put her in the water yesterday!
