Zinc change on a Vetus 55KG
any trick to getting the prop off to change the zinc on this BT. I take the screw off and washer and can't budge the prop. Any tricks?

The prop snaps in to the shaft pin, a push from behind (other side) with a piece of wood should do the trick. Nudge both sides of the prop.
Pulling from the nut side won't help much, I learned this the first year I had the boat.
Good luck.

Take a pocket knife and scrape the crud off, then a small pair of channel locks or pliers to work it back and forth till it comes out. Clean it up with some emory cloth before you put it back in.

Thanks Carl
I was trying to tap it out with a large screwdriver, I was concerned that I'd score the pin using pliers I'll give it a shot tomorrow

I don't think you can hurt that pin, in fact I think the prop would disintegrate before that pin would ever break if something hit it. Those props are pretty fragile. Has anyone ever sheared one?

Screwdriver prying didn't work, attached a vise grip pliers and tapped away with a ball peen hammer. Finally got it out but the pin was scored. Polished it with emery cloth and it slipped right in. BTW if anybody needs to know, to remove the zinc screws you need a 3mm metric allen wrench.
