Lol yea I can't wait to get the vaccum installed, it's sitting on the floor next to me right now. The unit is not that large, and has some crazy suction! That vroom costs more than the vaccum!!!

Re: My spring 2017 projects
Ok got the ccv filter installed (I know it's not the vaccum so no one will care, lol) but didn't take any pics. I'll try and remember next week. Picked up the autopilot but that's for next week. I'm shocked how small it is! I decided the vaccum is going to go into the hanging locker (that I took a picture of...lol)

Looks like there's still room in the hanging locker for swim fins, Peter Pan shoes, snorkel, etc.

Re: My spring 2017 projects
We rarely use the hanging locker for much other than towels. The vaccum sticks up about 2-3" above the bottom edge of the door. Pretty happy with the fit!

Re: My spring 2017 projects
Ok so unfortunately for various reasons the spring projects got sidetracked and I haven't done much. After some fog and wind messed up our plans for some fishing on Sunday I decided to try and get a few more things done. Unfortunately I didn't have my drill with me so the vacuum still sits unfinished! What I did manage to do was take apart the sink next to the stove in order to take out the drain and the spigot. Plan is to find a replacement at lowes for the spigot, and upgrade the drain from its current 1/2" to a 3/4" drain. So that should help a bit! Also got the old autopilot removed so now it's all ready for the new one to go in!

Re: My spring 2017 projects
Ok vacuum is done and works amazing. Even used it to vacuum up the aluminum shavings in the bilge by the rudder after drilling for the autopilot. Had to move it back a bit from the earlier pics but its in and the wife is in love with it. As I posted in the maintenance section I got the faucets replaced and replumbed the galley- flows 10x better - it used to fill when the water ran now it doesn't. Autopilot is 98% in. I will say the nac2 is stupid easy to install. Other than trying to run wires it took less than 30 minutes to network (prob 2 hours for all of it). I would have finished but I didn't have wire crimps (whoops!) so I need to go back down to finish that also need to make a mount for the rudder arm end of the rudder position sensor(want to reuse the old hole). Pretty happy with what we were able to accomplish yesterday.
All I have left is power to the pump and to the ap computer, mount the threaded rod to the rudder arm. And the re-plumb the bathroom sink drain.

Re: My spring 2017 projects
Alright autopilot is working, and working well! Really love the intuitive controls. The wireless remote works from anywhere on the boat so I can steer from the pulpit of I wanted to. Lol. Only thing I won't have is throttle control up there . One minor issue is that the autopilot when adjusted from the bg headunit allways wants to turn to starboard. When adjusted from the simrad or the Bluetooth control it works fine. Figure it's some stupid setting. I'll look into that with a call to simrad after I'm back from Florida. All in all super happy with the nac 2 so far. Stupid easy to install (it's all nmea200 except the pump wires and power) and works well (no hunting around for strait like my dads unit)

Congrats! I bought a boat a few years ago with AP and I thought "I'll never use this". Now I'd never be without it.
