I know many of you guys changed out you gauge clusters. I am in need of a Vdo 4000 rpm square tach.

Have you tried Great Lakes Skipper? They can be real good for old stock. Try a call, not a website search. When I bought my Chris Craft it had mis-matched VDO temp gauges, they were a 95% match, close but not exact. I found the exact matching one by contacting GLS. Hey, you know I can be a little picky about things, that is why you bought my last boat, right? Any idea how "our" old 28 is doing these days?
Also, we have quite a few consignment shops here on LI, worth a stroll through when you pass them by..

Or maybe you could go with an Aetna digital and make an adapter faceplate...at least then it will be a mismatch with a purpose.
