2017 Chesapeake Rendezvous

Barry and I ran into Lou Bennett the other night and volunteered to organize a rendezvous. We checked with Zahniser's in Solomon's Island and the marina is available for weekend of June 24, 2017 -- best time of year! Nice pool with tiki bar; hillside with tables, grills and tent for potluck; 9 to 10 restaurants (some newly opened including the Solomon's Pier); bikes; courtesy car. Sunday brunch at Dockside Restaurant on site.

Rates: $2.50/ft, checkout 12:30. Can take up to 20 boats and put us close together.

Deadline: 3/31/17 with $25 per boat deposit. Cancellation policy: 48 hours. They will hold for us.

To avoid scrambling, we thought we'd organize early. What say you all?

Great pick! You can't go wrong with either Zahnizers or Spring Cove. You'll like Solomons. Starting with the Dry Dock at Zahnizers, there are 13 decent restaurants within a mile of the marina, plus several fast food and take-out joints, West Marine, and of course the not-to-missed Solomons Tiki Bar!

Unfortunately, Carol & I will not be able to cruise up the creek and join you as we'll be just starting a bucket list cruise in Norway. If you have any questions about Solomons, post them here or PM us.

I plan to attend. Solomons will be a nice change from our last few rendezvous. I look forward to seeing all of you there and a big thank you to Vicki Lathom for stepping up to coordinate this year.

Hey there:

"Dancer" is a 27' Albin FC 1988 Aquia Harbour would like to join the Rendevous 2017 !! Solomon's? Been there. Did someone say exactty where the meetup is. ? June 24th?

Also very new to the forum. hardly know anything about this forum. Happy to find the forum but new to navigating it.

May not have names right so give me corrections. Still would like emails. I put notice in March Proptalk about rendezvous. I have idea for speaker if people interested: "Staying Alive Among the Freighters" by a pilot from Md. Pilot Association. Attended seminar on this at Eastport Yacht Club this weekend. Excellent.
