I have an Albin 27 "Sport" Fisherman model with hard cabin wall and doors (only one I've run across) that I finished my second season with a couple of months ago.
The boat has the 157 HP Isuzu 6BD1 engine and Hurth HBW 360 transmission. At season's end I took a short overnight trip of about 4 1/2 hours at 8 knots. Upon arriving at destination, and after putting the boat in neutral for a few minutes while waiting for dock space, I shifted to Forward and experienced a 10 second delay before the transmission fully engaged.
Thereafter, the boat performed fine on the return trip the next day, but the same symptom occurred a couple of days later, even after I changed transmission fluid.
Obviously I suspect the transmission clutches are worn. The boat is on the hard at my summer home in Maine, so I'm a long way from it until next summer.
My question is, does anyone know if the transmission is the "A" model, which indicates that the outshaft is "angled" down several degrees?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
