27FC Prop Specs
Newbe to Albin 27FC's but not to boat maintenance (i.e."slavery"). Bought a 27FC this past October and we are in the process of basically restoring to original condition. At any rate, the boat has a Federal 18 X 12 prop driven by a new Yanmar 4JH4-TE. Boat diesel prop calculator calls for a 21 x 16.9 or re-pitch the existing prop to 20.7. So, would someone please share their prop diameter and pitch?

Re: 27FC Prop Specs
I don't have a 27 so take this with a grain of salt but 18x20.7 seems like an awful lot of prop for one. From having read other members posts the 18x12 seems more in the relm of "normal" for those boats...im sure someone with more direct knowledge will speak up soon

Re: 27FC Prop Specs
I believe with the Nissian LD 28 (78 hp) the prop was a bronze 18x14 right hand.

Re: 27FC Prop Specs
My '87 27FC has a 18X14 4 blade with a 1 1/2" shaft. Works great with my Nissan LD28. I do hull speed at about 1900 RPM, burning about 3/4 GPH. Ben

Re: 27FC Prop Specs
Thanks guys for the replies. Will wait till new gps is installed in order to coordinate hull speed with rpms. Then basis that info, will probably pull prop and re-pitch at the spring haul out.

Capt. LarryD:
Is your 18 X 19 prop a three or four blade?
