Albin 27 FC Nissan 78 HP LD 28 Diesel

Hi All, I am seriously considering the purchase of a 1986 Albin 27 FC with the Nissan diesel engine. The engine has 3000 hours on it .My questions are 1) Is the considered to be in the very high range for usage?
2) Where can I obtain parts and maybe manuals?
3) Was this considered to be a good engine?

Mule, Guess I should have read all the entries before I answered any. I see it's an '86. 3000 hours isn't a lot if it has been well cared for. Check and see when the timing belt was last changed (should be at about 500 hr intervals), as this can be a little expensive if you don't do that kind of work yourself. It' not hard, but it usually requires pulling the engine as it's a little difficult to get to. Have a good diesel mechanic look at it because of the hours. It coulda had a less than consciencious owner in that amount of time. Ben

Sorry, that should have been LD20/LD28 service manual. It is the non-marine version but a good reference.

I have the Nissan 78hp in my 1987 FC and love it. The engine is solid and runs great.
