Here's one in Vancouver BC. $13,500 CN, but that's only $10,125 US. Might have to find a trailer, drive 1,500 miles to get, and jump through a few bureaucratic hoops importing to the US. But from the ad photos it looks pretty good, although of course it's hard to tell from pictures. But it is a 1977, one of the later models and it's rare to find anything newer than 1978.

Actually except for not having a hard top in many ways it looks nicer than my boat that I have well more than twice that amount invested in. But would be a great boat for the Delta.

I've talked to Carl a few times, he seems reticent, and he has had some life changes that have him living on the boat right now.
I was confirming my visit with him scheduled for next weekend when he told me of this setback.
I asked him to let me know if things changed again and I would be there quickly.
I have low expectations regarding the boat but am willing to be surprised. At 13,500, low expectations should be expected.

I've also sent a note to the owner of "Hobbit" because I had seen in one of his posts some mention of him possibly selling the boat Hobbit so he could move up to an A27 or A28.
He said he would let me know.

Also in the news: I read your blog posts and most of your forum posts and did enjoy them all.

Thank you,

FYI...(my experience): if the boat in question was built in USA there is no duty or hassle to bring it back...NAFTA is your friend on this ...I also had a number of folks who should have known better tell me that there would be duty, fees and other expense....not the case! I entered (from Naniamo BC) thru Friday Harbor with no problems or expense. If you get to needing any details give me a shout.

Yes but the Albin 25 was built in Sweden. How about that ?
Incidentally, I do love the 27 as well but it's my time for a 25.

If not a NAFTA boat then you likely will have duty issues...but how much duty can there be on a 12K boat??

I was considering the purchase of an A25 in Thunder Bay, ON. I talked to the US border people on the way back to the US after viewing it and inquired as to what would be necessary to bring the boat and trailer into the US. They said, show us the bill of sale and we'll let it thru. No mention of duty or additional paperwork. I suspect what actually happens would depend on who is on duty at the time you bring it thru. That particular station was a small station right on Lake Superior where I suspect boats cross the border in both directions frequently .
