Stainless portlights, opening
Albin installed stainless steel opening port lights in the TE28 and all later models I think from about 1990+,
Were these an Albin custom product or an off the shelf item.?
I have not been able to find anybody complaining about the SS port lights on Albins.
As I have an older A27 I am replacing / repairing / reseating existing plastic Beckson portlights , I would like to use something better if I do all this work. ( note:most of the Beckson portlight leaking problems come from incorrect installation by Albin)
Can anybody help with a source for the orriginal Albin portlights , that appear to work well, or what you might have used for replacements?
Thanks Warren

Re: Stainless portlights, opening
I believe the stainless ones are also Bomar hatches

I have used port lights from New Found Metals on a different boat and liked them.

Re: Stainless portlights, opening
My 99 did not have stainless on the bow hatch or ports. I ordered new port lenses from Bekson and a new stainless hatch.

Re: Stainless portlights, opening
I have the Bomar stainless ports and need to re-gasket one of them because it's leaking. Can anyone tell me what type of gasket to use and where I can buy it???

I would use 3M 4200 Fast Cure to re-bed them with.

Re: Stainless portlights, opening
I actually think the rubber gasket is the culprit. Any suggestions on a source? Defender.com sells a 3M Bomar gasket but it doesn't specify what hatches / port lights it fits...

Re: Stainless portlights, opening
I emailed pompanette from their website. I received a reply about a month later indicating I can buy bulk gasket material direct from them. You need about 3' per window.
I can send you the contact info later from my home email.
