I see you used their supports, why do that when you already have the existing ones on the boat? I was thinking of getting a plasdeck but using the existing support system.

I used their supports because my boat had no existing swim platform or supports. Their supports are quite nice and very sturdy. However if you have the existing supports and they are no more than 24" apart then I would use those

Unfortunately no good news, motor should be shipping this Friday or tues. So it won't be at the marina till Thursday at the soonest...nd they won't be able to put it in for atleast a week after that, so back to the waiting game. Trying to decide if I bother putting her in still this season or call it a lost year and move on...prob won't have her till October...

Sorry to hear about the delays - I know how frustrating that can be!!

If it's any consolation - I keep our boat in until just before Christmas - so in my mind you've got at LEAST two months to play!! :D

Definitely re-launch this season, even if it's just for shakedown cruises and getting all up to snuff. You want to launch in 2017 with ALL of this behind you and have as carefree of a Spring commissioning as possible....you've earned that at the least!

Jeremy,I'm sorry it's been such a struggle but I'm sure it'll be great to get her going agin,I'd say push forward and get it launched and get all the shakedown stuff squared away,it will put your mind at ease to know she's ready for spring besides you've got some good fishing coming up!Pete

ok so talked to Peninsular today - and happy days shes basically done. only questionable part was the injector pump - they were not able to get it above 280 hp and even there it ran very poorly - he figures she was making 260-270 in her heyday at best on the old block. He recommended upgrading the pump which will allow them to hit the 310 mark on the motor. Should be nice to get a 40ish hp bump! For the extra few bux I think its worth it. Likelihood is the old one was on its way out anyway (cutting out when throttle pulled back) so once she is tuned I should have a new motor. Basically the cast parts are the only things that were reused - everything else was replaced or rebuilt significantly. She will also be shipping with new engine mounts so the whole unit will sit a whole lot prettier than it does now.
