On the sliding window, there is a gasket and a metal trim which holds the gasket in place. In my case, the metal trim is not secured to the gasket (pressure fit) and the gasket comes right off the window. It is not necessary to remove the window. However, on my starboard window, the window was replaced and the po used 5200 to secure the metal trim in place with no gasket. That is my issue, removing the 5200 from the window. It is work in progress.
