Norcold DC Frig 28TE
I spent a lousy night's sleep at Block Island recently and it was because my refrigerator was cycling every few minutes. I've had it checked by a dockmate who runs a heating/AC business and he proclaims it doing it's job. Stting it on 5 gives a 16 degree reading and on 3 it's 25 degrees so he states the coolant is fine. I cleaned the coil in back, and completely taped up the door gasket and the unit still cycles on for 2minutes 15 seconds and off for the same period religiously. My bud suggested it had to be running that way since I got the boat and maybe hitting a wake or so caused the sound mountings to shift so that the compressor kicking on was now more evident. He also said the ambient temperature in the cabin could have a lot to do with the cycle times. I'm not that anal but have any of you experienced a like cycle period?

Yeah, sure does like to cycle. Like Mariner says 37-40 is a good temp / keeps the rum cold so the ice doesn't melt too quickly in that fine cocktail . Oh yeah and keeps the mustard and mayo fresh. I guess when you're a little deaf like me (so the Admiral says) it doesn't matter.
