Wire vs non wire exhaust hose
So one of the exhaust sections for the 28 is looking kinda scary...in an attempt to not have a blow out and big problem I figure when the motor is out is a great time to replace them. I have three strait sections of exhaust, 8" diameter. 27, 21, and 29" in length. I am considering using the non wire hose as it will be easier to squeeze into the right spaces I need to get it into. Is there a reason I shouldn't use the non-wire reinforced hose?

Re: Wire vs non wire exhaust hose
Non-wire. You only need the wire hose if the bend will kink the non-wired hose.

Re: Wire vs non wire exhaust hose
That's what I thought but as the existing hose was wire I thought I would ask...

Re: Wire vs non wire exhaust hose
Wire is also helpful from keeping the hose from sucking in on your raw water feed to the engine as well. The larger hoses can suck or collapse easier than non wire. The exhaust is positive pressure so it will not have that tendency.
