Aft Corner rail covers

Post by Valkyrie »

I am finding that the fiberglass corners that cover the rub rail (black rubber) at the aft corners are in desperate need of replacement. I have been searching high and low with no success. Does anyone know where you can find a pair of these corners???? They are simple molded fiberglass 90 degree turns that are screwed to the rail.

Can one of you post a pic of same? My 84FC has no fiberglas covers. The rub rail merely runs in a continuous strip grind the entire boat.

Not to be sarcastic but why not fabricate the corners yourself. (1) Make a mold to fit the angle of the corner. (2) Put on a layer of mold release wax or use a plastic sheet (3) Lay up enough layers of fiberglass to reach the thickness you want. (4) Using a sander/grinder to get the shape you want.

Its really pretty simple, a bit messy but not too difficult.

Just one old farto's opinion.
