Can't get the anchor to go down.

Post by paulamaxim »

We are unable to put down the anchor. We use the up/down switch but there is no response. No motor seems to come on.

What else do we do?

Is there a possible electric issue?

We need to try and fix it before Sunday.

Any help is appreciated!

We have an 1999 Albin 28.

Did you check the clutch nut on the gypsy? If it is back off too much it won't grip the rode/

The main breaker on most is in the dinette for the windless. The up down at the helm (that pulls in the solenoids by the windlass) can be on a separate fuse or circuit if you will. Get a DC voltmeter and get more intell.. Check for 12 vdc.
