Best and WORST boat names
We had another thread around here about how your boat got it's name.
How about the other names we see out there?
What are the best and worst?
The other day I saw "No Ones Ark"

One's I've seen locally that I think are just horrendous:
Wayne's World
ATM
Fantasea
Wet Dream
Four Play
Conference Room Sea
Steel Aweigh
My favorite names are the ones that the commercial guys give their boats, things like:
Arctic Challenger
Polar Sea (actually a USCG Ice-Breaker)
Maverick
New Oregon
Those types of names are somewhat non-descript, but convey a great sense of what it is they represent.
Word plays are always a bad bet when it comes to boat naming.

There are some good ones
Debt Finder: on an old wooden boat
Aloan at Last: owned by a retired bank loan officer
Knot Guilty: Owned by a lawyer
Miles Aweigh:
Petty Cash: owned by the Petty family
There are far more overused, unimaginative, crude & just plain stupid names
How many 'Time offs' some variation of 'Other woman' are there?
How many 'Wet Spots' ,'Wet Dreams' & similar in crude lines are there?
The dumbest I ever heard on the radio was 'All Help'.

re: Boat names
Hi all:
The two that stick with me are: "Ahoy Vey" which is an Albin 28' and "The Dirty Oar" which was on the side of the road in MA.
Cheers,
Andrew @ Albin

Believe it or not, an aqaintence named Will had a 27 Pursuit named "Bare with me".........yup.....he's a nudist!!
His newer Blackfin 29 is "Will Knot' , because that's what his women guest say..............at first................
Although we have been invited more than once...........my wife won't let me set foot on his boat!!!! (not that I'd go....)

About Boat Names
Ted Irwin owned Irwin Sailboat Mfg. long ago. His personal boat sported a name that lives in all of us.
