2016 Rendezvous Herrington Harbour South 9/16,17,18/2016

After reading the comments on when and where to hold this year's rendezvous there seem to be consensus on September at Herrington Harbour South. I have reserved the weekend of September 16,17,18, 2016 for us. They are holding 15 to 20 spaces. Call them at 410-741-5100 to make your reservation.

We have held the rendezvous at Herrington Harbour South twice before and it is an excellent venue. They have a restaurant on the premises, a pool, fuel dock, and excellent bath house facilities. I anticipate that we will use our traditional agenda. Boats arrive on Friday afternoon, informal cocktail party on the dock followed by groups going to dinner. Saturday late morning we'll try to have a speaker on some appropriate topic. Suggestions are welcome. Saturday evening will be a pot luck cookout and awards. Sunday is informal breakfast and departure on your own schedule. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the date.

This is our Tenth Annual Rendezvous and I'm looking forward to a good turnout. Be sure to identify yourself as part of the Albin Owners Group when you make your reservation. Also, for those who wish to come by land, they have rooms available.

Thanks again Lou! I will see if I can come up with a speaker for Saturday Morning. How about Electronics?

Thanks Lou, for putting this together. Georgia and I hope to be there, and look forward to meeting other Albineers. Please let me know if I can help out in any way; Mazboot is but a five minute bike ride from HHS.

Lou - That's great news! Sharon and I will be glad to host happy hour - slip C-5 - and help in anyway possible. For those who haven't been to HHS in the last two years, they completely renovated the picnic area. It is now a beautiful garden with picnic area, waterfall, playground, wedding area, etc. There are two tents that are first-come-first serve or you can rent. The smaller tent is $350 to reserve and has six picnic tables. The big tent (by the beach) is $700 to reserve and would be more than enough for our group. These tents are rarely reserved so I don't recommend wasting money -- especially after Labor Day. They also rebuilt a section of the hotel just for Tinsley and his wife. It has three private bathrooms. We will have our cars here if anyone wants to use them to go into North/Chesapeake Beach or a run to West Marine. Chesapeake Market (former Honey's Harvest) has a nice deli, sells alcohol, snacks and boating products. Boaters can also check-out stand-up paddle boards and kayaks (free) on the beach.

Is there a site or location which gives pertinent info about the Rendezvous at HH South.

What I am looking for is;
Cost of the Rendezvous itself
Speakers or other info about daily presentations
Vendors
Special slip pricing
Size of boats in attendance

Have never been to one and just seeing what is planned.

I was quoted over the phone the off season rates for us, you can verify that while making reservations.

Other than the cost of your dish for the pot luck dinner, there should be no other expense except for your own food and drink.
We typically have a speaker, but that might not be sorted just yet. There will be all types and sizes of Albins, from the 27 to your 43, and everything in between. Good chance to meet some great people and look at other Albins.
The pool will still be open.

Just in! Mangos Bar & Grill at Herrington Harbour will be closing (for good) 5 Sep. The only option for 'fine dining' is Chesapeake Deli across the street. They are open until 9 and have a separate 'dining room'. For the unprepared, they have a nice selection of beer, wine and liquor. There's always the option for a run up to Deale for Skippers Pier, Dockside or Happy Harbor.
