Owners of mid 80s A27FC boats

Post by changer »

Good morning. We have recently purchased a 1985 A27FC. Still learning about the Albin story, construction and strategies. This Board has been terrific. I have come to realize that these vessels were built with some "variations in technique". As a result, I have to look carefully at the postings in some regards because of this. I would like to identify other owners of "1985 vintage" A27FC in order to learn about common issues and leverage knowledge about our particular situation.

Standing by .. and thanks.

We have a 1985 A27FC with LD 28 Nissan. Have done tons of work on Isabel so may be able to help you out with issues. I have some previous posts on tackling leaks from ports and replacing headliner. Replaced manifold riser which on these engines is a poor design. Also had damper plate issues which on these boats is an unusual design. But having done this work and more we love the boat and have done some great cruises.

Best

Changer, I'm over in St. Pete, if you want to swing over and check out another A27 going through mid-life repairs feel free. Highly recommend JT's comprehensive missive on the A27. It covers EVERY point of concern. Pretty much every project imaginable is discussed here on the board but JT's manual is definitely step one. Welcome to the A27 world.
