Re Lehman
So I did research on the web and there's was Lehman mfg co and Lehman power Corp , I think one became the other.
Lehman power Corp when Bob smith was there did the marinazation of the English ford 4. And 6 cyl Diesel engine used in the ford trucks and ford tractors , the 6 was a developement of the 4cylinder , a late '50 design I think.
During bob smiths long time at Lehman power he was involved in the marinazation of the Peugeot 4D61. In 1981 he left Lehman power Corp and started American diesel and still does , but now his son Brian does most of the hard work. There web site was down for quite a while but appears to be up again.
http://americandieselcorp.com
But apparently they do not have anything for the Peugeot 4D61 model.( they used to)
Some other interesting imformation on the 6 cyl is here on a different forum
http://www.dieselenginetrader.com/diese ... eadid=2173
There is other imfo here if you are interested in history
http://www.absolutelyeverythingabout.co ... an-mfg-co/
I have never found this website before.
I'm sure there is other imformation but nothing on wiki I could find.

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifold
So could you run a marine diesel without cooling the exhaust? Could you get a manifold for a road car?

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifold
Why not? Run it straight up, high above the decks, figure out the vibration issues, insulate the death out of it. Must be plenty of fishing, tug, ocean liner vessels out there just like that. Oh, yeah, incorporate a muffler, too.

Many shrimp boats run a 'dry stack' exhaust - You can here them coming (and going) miles away

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifold
been have a conversation with this seller
he insists you can get parts at a ford shop (nuts!)
he writes
Try Ford Lehman dealers and all the list I gave you: Bobcat, New Holland Ford, Volvo Penta, Range Rover, etc.
its a highish price for the engine but its another option
there is also another one that claims to be rebuilt but looks a mess
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Lehman-Mar ... eg&vxp=mtr
this guy does know all about the engine and its origins
