Looking for a classic 36

Post by tomtomterrific »

Hello,

I'm looking for a classic Albin 36 aft cabin trawler for sale in the Long Island/Connecticut area.

Presently I'm considering the purchase of one in Jupiter FL which is in need of an interior restoration and some TLC...a real project boat.

I'm willing to invest the time and money to restore her but the transportation costs are prohibitive. And the boat needs a little too much work right now to make the trip up on it's own bottom.

Does anyone know of a similar boat for sale in this region?

Thanks,

Tom

Albin In Jupiter

I know the boat you are talking about. I have a 1986 Albin 36 in the same marina in Jupiter.

I believe there is a 36" Albin, circa early 80's, for sale in Stuart if you want to take a ride and ask around a bit. I don't have an address but can direct you. From the outside it looks in decent shape. It hasn't moved in a while. It has burgundy canvas and lies at an older condo complex. I have an '85 and stopped to check it out of curiosity. Some of the residents mentioned it was for sale but didn't know the owner or contact info. I can't recall the street name but from the intersection of Kanner Hwy and Monterey Blvd in Stuart, go west on Monterey about 1/4 mile, just before starting onto the Palm City Bridge turn right. Shortly, on your left, you'll see the condo complex and boats berthed along several causeways. You can see the Albin with burgundy canvas from the street and berthed by the clubhouse.

I have an Albin 33 very similiar to the 36 for sale on Lake Champlain in Vermont. It's an fun and easy delivery down the Champlain Canal and Hudson River plus the vessels up here are used for very short seasons in fresh water and are generally in better condition. The boat is listed in Yachtworld for $24,900 but you can buy it from me for 10% less. Paste this link in your browser.
http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_detail.jsp?&units=Feet&id=2226249&lang=en&slim=broker&&hosturl=ronyachts&&ywo=ronyachts&
or call eight zero two-three six three-0858
or call the broker himself.
Thanks!

I have a 83 Albin 36 DC. We are located in Cseville MI which is about 150 mils north of Detroit. We are considering selling. I could send you the most recent survey we have. Sheis ready to go - and does not need a lot of work - mostly TLC. I'll get ith you on specifics if you are interested. We bought her in Daytona and have done the loop with her.

I have a 1990 36 Classic Trawler. It is a freshwater boat. I am the second owner and I am located in Cleveland. The first owner bought it new in 1990. I purchased it this year. It has the upgraded Cummins 210 Diesel with a bow thruster. It also has the center placed queen bed in the master bedroom aft. I will be moving the boat from Sandusky, Ohio to Cleveland this week to take it out of the water for the winter.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Michael.
I just spoke with your broker about your boat. I have been looking all over for an Albin 36. Is the Boat still in Port Clinton or did you move it to Cleveland. It would make for a shorter trip from Grand Rapids, MI.
What kind of performance do you get with the Cummins 210.

Hi Tom, I am a marine contractor and while building the new yacht basin in Demopolis, AL I discovered, fell in love with and bought a 1981 36' classic. I also own a small boat yard in Missouri as well as a yacht transport company so I know boats. I was in hopes of having time to cruise this fall and winter but it's not looking like my schedule will allow such activity. I have been tinkering with the boat fixing the normal stuff. She is sceduled to come out of the water this week or next for a bottom job and also to wet-sand and buff the hull sides and transom from the boot stripe to the gunwale. I would consider selling and delivering her. Let me know if you are interested. Mike

Hi, if you are still looking check out this classic 36. It is located a bit away from your home waters but it may be worth a look. Listed by Boatmon, a long time AOG member.viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5005

Good luck,
Paul
