My dash, which I think is probably original 2001 from Albin, has no stop button and no place for one. The 6LP-STE engine starts and stops with the ignition key.

Interesting my manual for my 6LP clearly stated do not use the ignition switch to shut down the motor. Interesting.. Below is a picture of my old dash showing my shiny new stop button and where it goes in the Yanmar factory dash.

Here is a pic of my dash, stop button is the visible one to the left, start button (not visible) is right under the ignition switch/key.

Paddy your panel was made by Seaward and was the basis of my new dash project. I was told they made the panels OEM for Albin. I removed all the devices and mounted them in the new panel.

Paddy, I have a 2004 as you do with the same dash and the stop button does work on mine. I did have the same intermittent start problem that you had last year. It turned out to be the starter relay on mine that needed to be replaced.

Rob, thanks for the pictures on where the stop relay is located.

Thanks for the info everyone.
Stop button is working again. White wire with brown tracer was separated in the wiring harnes near the stop relay.
Saturday morning I wanted to check the relay for corrosion, looks brand new, no corrosion so I reinstalled it and noticed a white wire with brown tracer simply hanging out of the wiring harness. Dug in and found the other half, reconnected and I'm back in business. Have no idea how that one wire came apart.
Thanks again for the photos and descriptions.
Rather be lucky than good any day.

Thanks,

Picked up a start relay at my Yanmar dealer today and it has a different part number than the picture above.
Checked the dealer’s part manual and it confirmed I got the correct relay for my 6LP-STE.
Same relay, different part numbers...?
