What transmission do i have on a 2007 28 TE?

Hi,
I am considering a trolling valve for a 2007 28TE Flush deck with a Yanmar 6LPA STP, 6 cyl., and I was asked what transmission do I have. Since the vessel has not been delivered yet and the transmission was not listed on the survey report I was hoping someone on here would know. They stated it would be located on the engine plate.

I agree with above but I've yet to see a survey that didn't identify the tranny.

Doubtful and most likely a misunderstanding as a plate will be found on the gear itself.

I'd be hesitant to go by what others have as, to my knowledge, you are now the third owner of this boat and the gear could have been possibly replaced. I'd verify what is in your hull before ordering the valve.

Rob, I had a survey done and I also have the survey from when the second owner purchased the vessel and neither listed the type of transmission. But surveyors are accredited -maybe they were having off days.

Kevin, you probably know the vessel better than I do. I hope I didn't miss anything.

I don't think that you missed anything or believe that Michael had any gear issues. I just think that you should confirm the gear before ordering the valve.

Is the boat still at Crocker's? If so, I can head over and check it out for you. Please, let me know. Kudos on putting a valve in. It's a real game changer at achieving the slow troll.

Today, I just finished a valve install on my ZF 280 - 1 A. Your valve should have a switch on it that will allow for an easy install of an illuminated helm light for when the valve is engaged. I'd be happy to help you out with the wiring. I'd also recommend a CableCraft Control and cable. They make a really sweet set-up.

Yes, the boat is still at Crocker. Hoping for pick up on May 24.

I was going to say the tranny plate could be hiding from plain view under the tranny cooler but if Kevin is going to check it out then no worries, unless he brings his sledge hammer...

I took a couple of pictures of the plate, but they're a bit fuzzy and won't post well. I should have lifted off the protective plastic and they would have been clear.

I'd consider ordering a new gear filter and change the gear fluid when she arrives.
