My original plastic wheel broke today (my electrical guy stumbled and grabbed it) so I finally have the excuse I need to replace it with the more nautical wooden 6-spoker.

I think the 16-inch one is appropriate. I notice that quite a few 25's have this type of wheel and I wonder, before I order it, whether there are installation issues I should be aware of - or is it a pretty simplle thing to re-bolt it on? Anyone?

Re: A25 steering wheel switch
Sorry, can't help you there. Ours came with a s/s destroyer type wheel with teak handles, which looks like this. I like the look of the wood wheels, but don't see myself going out of my way to change out this one.

I wouldn't change out that one either. It is a lot nicer than the white plastic thing I have now.

Re: A25 steering wheel switch
Just finished adding a new laminated Ash ring around the outside of our wooden spoke wheel. I'll show a pic when I get it installed. First I have to move the engine shut-off to the right a couple of inches. It's located right behind the Ash ring.
BTW, "Destroyer-style" wheel is smooth around the perimeter, no spokes. Stands to reason, with all the quick changes in heading a Destroyer is called upon to execute. They don't want spokes cluttering up the helm.

Re: A25 steering wheel switch
Well I managed to get the old plastic wheel pried off (causing some damage to the plastic base) and I am quite pleased with the new wheel.
