The one berthed next to me is available in St. Pete as well (not listed anywhere). Don saw the battle damage on her (piling impact that knocked a hole in hull deck joint. But hey.... It's in the water and the motor runs. As several have pointed out.... "Look it's a spare engine for under 10k." As far as I'm concerned, if the price is right it's like getting the boat for free....

Considered this, but after mechanic looked over the engine, changed my mind. Has lots of other things needing repairing as well. Guess it would be ok as a project. Broker was not easy to work with.

Yep, I met him. Not the best. That's their one with awl grip everywhere right? There's another FC in Tampa I think he was looking for 11k. It had the Isuzu though. Looked at it before I bought mine. They're out there. Most are project boats though. Feel free to stop by mine. I'm there most weekends. SZ3 at Demens Landing. BTB there is a SC for sale at Dunedin Municipal.

That being said.... The price of a repower is around 10k. If all else works.... A 7k boat and a 10k repower.... You have the average price of an Albin 27 (15-20) and a new engine.... I'm just saying.

I don't know if this is the boat I looked at 4 years ago.. The bow had damage the joint between the hull and deck had been "repaired" with expanding foam. There was rot everywhere. I told the broker that I was considering a $4k offer price but was concerned that it might have been too high. He laughed and I continued my search.

Probably was.... Like a good used car dealer, I saw the horrible paint job and felt the trampoline front deck and ran the other direction. This was too big a job for 4K. Goes to show you though.... They are out there, you just can't jump the gun. The next one might be "the" boat and you squandered your capital on a hole in the water. It's a pretty delicate balance. All I need is a solid hull w a solid deck to bring back to life. My journey through my pilothouse recore project was about the deepest I would be willing to go. Can't imagine recoring a deck or a hull.
