My fronts are ok but the plastic connectors to the front from the plastic drawer are failing. My plan is to use stainless angles or wood blocks and strengthen to assembly. The wood would take space from a small drawer so I am going to try stainless first.

My drawers were still in ok shape so I just made new faces and a face frame. If your drawers are shot, I would just pull the whole case out and remake it all. It's a crappy cabinet and the drawer system stinks. Not at all on par with the way the boat was built. I do however like the little drawer latches! I'm a cabinetmaker and own a shop . But anyone with a skill saw and a kraig jig could do a better job than what's in there. Let it rip!

What I really want to do is to expand the storage in that spot, maybe some Plano storage and drawers with a lockable door. Couple companies make them outta starboard. I'd love teak but hate the maintenance, lol

Teak, I'm doing an experiment on the finish. I've tried everything around here in CT for clears and believe it or not, I used interior original waterlox on a teak shower seat 5 yrs ago and it's still perfect. Even after getting showered twice a day! So even though it dosnt have the added oxides for UV protection I'm trying it! We will see how it does.
