Bow Pulpit Removal

Post by Denis »

I reciently tried to remove my bow pulpit so that I could re-bed the bolts holding it on. I removed all the through bolts holding it on but I could not budge it. Are there bolts somewhere that I can't see that I missed?

See if 5200 on the bottom of the pulpit is holding it in place.

Tomcat recently removed his pulpit. If you do a search under 'windlas' look at his pics. Maybe he can help you too.

It is most likely 5200 holding it down. Waaaay overkill. IF you can get it off, reseal with 4200.

Thanks for the help, but I guess I will wait until the boat is out of the water and then try it again. At least that way, I won't drop it in the water while trying to maneuver it around the rail.
FYI, remove the screws that hold down the back deck that covers the fuel tank. Fill the holes with epoxy, drill and countersink the holes again then re-install the screws using a good boat caulk to seal the holes. I found a problem there that required more work than that to repair. The culprit was two leaky screw holes. Denis
