Albin 28 aluminum radar arch diameter.

Anyone know the diameter of the aluminum radar arch on a 28? I know the later boats were stainless at 1.5" but I need to know the older style. Heading down to the boat thursday and if I order the spreader lights today I can install them thursday, but I need to knwo if the tube clamps are the right diameter

It's just shy of 2". Pretty sure it's a gauge size because I couldn't get clamps when I installed my tv antenna, I had to make one up out of acetal to do the job.

If I get a chance to take a lunch break tomorrow, I'll pop down to the boat and measure it for you. 49mm seems to ring a bell as its actually pipe and not tube. Pipe is measured from the bore and not the outside diameter so it's sized in what we call schedule here.

Yes. 1.5. Just took mine off. Ips goes by inside pipe diameter.

What lights are you fitting? I simply took off the old ones and made use of the welded boss that was in the frame already, made up some new brackets out of stainless and fitted the light to that - i'd take a picture but sadly i am now back in the office!

I have two sets of spreaders that came with my boat. The ones that face rearward on the welded boss and a set of side facing lights the PO added right under the antenna brackets. They are halogen so im replacing them with led and since the new rear top occupies the same space as the light brackets I need to move them. Rather than drill more holes in the arch im gonna clamp them on. Im getting a set of taco 6 led spreader lights
