Does anyone know the US name of the stopper in the picture? For decades I have known it as a Blake Slip, or even a Blake Stopper, but googling these names only comes up with one picture (attached).

I would like to know if I need a "local name" for this. I am looking to fit a pair to a quick release fall for a dinghy to be mounted on the transom/swim platform.

Any directions as to where I can purchase would also be welcomed.

Thanks

Doug

Shows up for me as blake chain stoppers or pelican hook chain stoppers.

If it was a product made by Blakes Engineering, there is a company here in the UK called SeaSure. I'm pretty sure they took over all the tooling from Blakes. It may be worth searching their catalogue to see if it offers another name.

Thanks for 3 great leads. Now I have some revised nomenclature I have confidently tracked a bunch of them down, including at our old friends WM.

That said .....

I think the most practical all-purpose pelican slips (aka Blake Slips) are found at http://www.downwindmarine.com/Sea-Dog-P ... 00404.html
